Feeding Programs
Much of what we do in Haiti revolves around the necessities of life, particularly food and shelter.
Through the monetary gifts of many people we sponsor a feeding program twice per week in the neighborhood of Beadouin . In a church built by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod ,approximately 120 children from primarily from a former tent city get a meal of rice, beans and sometimes chicken
This a video of feeding the kids last week by our current team with members from St. Mark, Chesterland, OH, Royal Redeemer, North Royalton, Good Shepherd, Elgin IL and Trinity, Peoria IL .
The team attended the same church this Sunday for Worship. It crossed my mind how the two activities both involved feeding. One feeds the body, the other feeds the soul. Both in the same Sanctuary. I wish the hectic enthusiasm of the children for rice and beans could carry over to Sunday. The picture on the left shows the members taking communion.
Our Goal = The physical food we serve leads to the children coming to faith, attending church and receiving the Lord’s Supper.
